It is real - I saw it myself about a month ago. It was built by a New Zealander (hence the Maori emblems on the bow and exhaust 'fins') and it runs entirely on bio-diesel.

I haven't watched the show, but I see all the commercials for Discovery Channel's "Whale Wars", about the Sea Shepherds and their attempts to stop the Jap whaling. I have to wonder, if they're as passionate about it as they appear to be, why not just sink the fuckers? Until they're willing to kill and/or die for the whales, they're just wasting their time and effort.
