I worked at a place for over ten years that sold thousands of feet o PVC pipe every day in 20 foot lengths from 1/2" diameter up to 8" in diameter. Unloading the first few bundles of pipe from those trucks was a bitch because the trucks were always fully loaded and naturally the smaller pipe was at the top - you had to almost fully raise the forks of the forklift and because we had to unload in the street make tilt adjustments while trying to get dead center on the bundles. Then, when you raised the forks what little you still could, the ends of those bundles of smaller diameter pipe would sag down and often have to be dragged off without dislodging the bundles below. There were a few incidents over the years involving inexperienced forklift operators and/or poorly strapped bundles. Fun times.

I know exactly what you mean...the first load of plastic pipe that i ever hauled was a bunchof small stuff, the loader told me to stop after a few miles and tighten the straps..but it was several miles before i found a place...the load started to shift and was leaning over the side of the trailer..had to jerk the wheel a couple times to shift it back into place..good times indeed lol
