I have a car. Would you like to see it?

That's all you could get? Hell, that's a fine bike, Duane. Every bit as fast as
a Hayabusa, and a real solid engine and chassis. I work on a few of these for
the locals, and not much ever goes wrong with 'em. Check the battery
connections, they like to loosen up and fry alternators. The battery is inside a
trap door in the frame just over the right rider's footpeg. Post some pics when
you pick it up!

Thanks man,I get to drive it tommorow before I hand over the check.I read it
was fast but have never riden one.He listed the new parts it has a new
battery,flush mount blinkers,fender eliminator,led turn and brakes,and a full
muzzy exhaust.I really like it but I was just set on the R1,I might change after
I ride it.Its a big bike and I hope it handles well.
168173 allright dude lets see your car.

I wonder,it has a full muzzy exaust but other than that its stock. What would
you do to improve it,I forgot to mention its lowered in back and has one less
tooth on the front sprocket.I was thinking power programer, maybe go back to
stock hieght.

Yep, get a Power Commander and richen up the midrange and top end. This is a
TALL bike, and I couldn't plant both feet on the ground while sitting on one, so
depending on your height and inseam, maybe lowering it slightly isn't a bad
thing, but it does slow down the steering somewhat.

Cool,Ill post tommorow afternoon after I get back to tell you the verdict.
Duane Report This Comment Date: November 13, 2005 07:12PM
Man this is one fast bike,170 was up pretty quick but its just to windy in MD
right now.The bike keeps pushing to the side at that speed.I really under
estimated this bike.I noticed some brake squeel and the steering is tight on low
speed turns to the left and he has a strap on the right front and the rear has
been lowered but he said its a link and its reversable. It pulls like a friegt
train.It gets to 170 fast.

Get some new tires on it right away if there's any question to their condition.
These bikes shred tires like crazy. A gentle throttle hand will prolong them
somewhat, and by the sound of things, your life!

Thanks man,I think its rough at take off untill forward motion starts to smooth
out around 20 mph. Will get some put on while inspected tommorow.

Pirelli Dragon Corsa, my favorites.

You were right,I had it inspected and the front tire failed it was cupped and
they replaced it with the only zr rated tire they sold shinko I think was the
name.It feels much better in low speed turns no gitters. He said they would put a
power comander in for $400 and run it on the dyno for $35 to get a before and
after.Shes tagged and a freaking bullet I noticed its alot more comfortable on
longer rides.Sould I take that strap off the front and what exactly do they do,I
heard they were for looks and also for drag racing?
Duane Report This Comment Date: November 15, 2005 02:06AM
dude, peged it 190 damn bike was drifting big time and I could barely take my
eyrs off the road.mortality really sinks in at that speed.
Anonymous Report This Comment Date: November 15, 2005 03:34AM
Duane, lose the strap right away! That's just a poor man's crutch to get a good
launch at the drag strip. Put the stock shock links back on in the rear. Trust
me man, you'll be much happier. (and safer)
Anonymous Report This Comment Date: November 15, 2005 03:38AM
You said you're married, wife and kids? WTF are you doing 190MPH on a public
road, dude? Think of your family, all it takes is one slip at that speed and you
are done. Sorry to be Captain Safety, but you're worrying me.
Duane Report This Comment Date: November 15, 2005 03:53AM
I think it was enough,I dont think Im going thier again. It scared me pretty
good and got pretty hard to hold on.Thanks for the concern though, sometimes I
get a little stupid with adrenaline.I think Im going to set it back, how hard is
it to change the links?
Anonymous Report This Comment Date: November 15, 2005 07:14AM
Easy, just nuts and bolts. You'll need to place a padded jack under the bike to
keep it from falling off the suspension once the links are removed, though.

Thanks, thats cool just spent a ton on inspection and tags so this will help.
