Actually, when you think about it, the only real football IS soccer. Why?
Because you only use your feet ... hence FOOTball.
Other Pseudo-football codes like Australian-football, Rugby-football and
American-football (to name a few) all allow the use the players' hands and as
such are not strictly football at all.
As for which type of ball-sport you follow (or which you don't like) all depends
on what you were raised to be enthusiastic about. All sports are silly, because
they are meant to be a sociable game, where people comete against each other
within a predefined set of rules to mske the game fun!! Remember fun. That is
the ultimate purpose of sport. Just fun. hence 'fun and games'.

DrBob, you don't make much sense.
First off, every football variation does at somepoint require that you kick the
ball.
Secondly, I was raised in a house where I played every sport I could, including
football, baseball, soccer, track, volleyball, wallyball, martial arts,
kickball, field hockey, amongst others. Hell, I even played cricket and
badmitton on a fairly regular basis. However, I've since got to the point where
the only sport I can really enjoy watching is American football. Well, that and
martial arts.
Since soccer isn't really considered that big in the US (even after the year the
US won the world cup), I can't really get into that. Baseball had a strike a
years ago that caused me to begin ignoring them, as has hockey more recently.
Basketball has become too much about having an attitude and not enough about
actually playing the game, although college basketball is still pretty
entertaining. For the most part, it's just football since they haven't done
anything to piss me off yet.
