Of course. Cnn can't pass up a chance to do anything to discredit anyone offering up different opinions from those of the government. I'm curious, if the Italians did pay a ransom, they would have most likely told the U.S. what was going on to keep something like this from happening. The U.S. would have then known, which means either they didn't want her to get away, or the troops at the patrol/checkpoint/whatever were incompetent and fired without checking to see what they were shooting at.
