If poverty drives violence, the Pilgrims should have killed each other and we wouldn't have been born because our Grandparents would have been dead or locked up. Greed, and lack of education would be a better cause, and lack of education can be a cause of poverty, poor personal life choices and environment cause greed. Not all poor people steal or commit crimes some actually work their way out of their situation unless they are too dumb, then they end up in prison,
