Too bad links eventually get broke on PLUS613. So if someone runs across this in the future you might have to look this up yourselves (if you care). And I'm not going to spend any more time than I already have. But, I WAS curious.

1st off, 'anonymous' should have noticed that in Bishop Swan's post he mischaracterizes both Mr. Thompson and Meili's cases. Read them for yourselves (even though hey, it's only 2 articles). But it appears that Bishop Swan(Twitter, 6/18/19) wants to make it a black/white thing. Purposeful mischaracterizations doesn't help the credibility of any cause, to understate a fact. Was Mr. Thompson being black a factor at all? Who knows? How about doing some research. And if prejudice is found sue the State. Or at least embarrass the shit out of them. But, do it with facts!

And don't forget that there are 2 different States/jurisdictions. 25 years separate these cases. God knows about what legal representation was used in both cases. A plea deal in Missouri. Looks like the Missouri Judge has a rep as well.

I've always wondered why there wasn't some sort of legal defense fund for black defendants. And it appears that rapper Jay-Z has just that sort of fund. Maybe there are others. It's about time.

Maybe Mr. Thompson is a good candidate for the recent justice reform legislation that just passed. It seems to me that it would be better for everyone if he was out of prison with a job, paying taxes. Note still that I know little about the case; this is only an impression.

I wonder if there are any articles or research on what happens with these sex offender guys, their lives after conviction. But I would guess that Meili is, and maybe appropriately so, fucked!
