That's because you don't have crazy Americans in Australia.

I don't know about that, we've got a fair number of nut cases. There were clearly people trying to incite something; protesters saying they were going to spit on police and things like that (in these COVID-19 days).

It seemed to be pretty peaceful though all across Australia, a couple of hundred thousand people. These things tend to get out of hand over time though, the next one will no doubt be worse etc.

Unless something else (stupid) happens I don't think that we will see any more violence like what happened 10 days ago. But appears that we are seeing more protesters, a lot more. I think that what that means (besides that fact that it is a great excuse for getting out of lock-down) is that a lot of people want to be a part of something that they view as positive change. But clearly they are not thinking things through. "Defund the police"? Citizen PLEASE!! Erase the de facto world-wide historical enforcement method of an orderly society? MORONS! Are there issues? Sure. And it is hard to say where to start. Funding for police training? That ain't cheap because the training has to be continuous. Proper performance reviews? Some say that it is police unions that make it possible for an officer to have multiple complaints before any corrective actions are taken.

Now is a good time to point out that as human beings, NOTHING THAT WE DO IS PERFECT. And it never will be. There is always a gap of imperfection,

So, when we hear someone offering some utopia for vast change be more than skeptical. These as advertised utopias are likely to be even more flawed if not disastrous.
But there is an upside!!! What a great measure for the amount of FOOLS in the world!
It's good to know things.
