It's amazing how .. simple yet complicated the world of the internet is. The protocol is fairly simple. But then you look at something like this site; basic little website.

Client -> Cloudflare + SSL offload -> encrypted tunnel / firewall -> 1 of 3 ingress points globally (caching reverse proxy; Europe, US, Australia) -> encrypted tunnel / firewall -> web server cluster -> PHP accelerator cluster -> database cluster.

Yes. More complex than it needs to be. But where's the fun in simple? No single point of failure.

But all it looks like is a little https site.
