I see caps, resistors, diodes, and transistors.
I also see a processor. OK...what's so funny?

it all has gnome on it, gnome is a gui used on linux distros
mrkim Report This Comment Date: August 14, 2006 05:18PM
Yep, gnome is the desktop management program used in many different distros of
Linux, mine included. Kde is another common one and what my old Linspire OS
used. I miss a lot of the features Kde had ... sniff, sniff :>

KDE is still around and being developed and IMO is a lot better than Gnome.
shaDEz Report This Comment Date: August 15, 2006 12:38AM
what? you should be able to put that on there... then again i've never played
with an ubuntu machine before
mine has the option of usin gnome, kde, or just xwindow by itself... i really
don't care though, i'm more used to the terminal anyways
BlahX3 Report This Comment Date: August 15, 2006 01:13AM
More recent KDE versions I've tried almost eliminate the need to open terminal
at all. The system utils are great. It's got a little ways more to go but it's a
rockin' GUI and a lot easier for habituated Windows users to get accustomed to
than Gnome is, and Gnome seems to be missing a lot of the cool tools KDE
has.
Terminal is ulitmate control, though, can't argue that point.

Well, after some diggin around in the Synaptic Packages Mgr. and lengthy
downloading of a shitload of kde programs, logging off & switchin it all
out I'm back to runnin kde as my desktop app again :>
Just a demi geek in training, but always lookin to learn :>
Now I'm off to see if I can make amarok behave like it's sposta :>P
