HAHA.....Cute.....
cue the lackluster responces now... by the way a b2 stealth bomber cost how much
to build? and how many would we have to give up to pay for health care?

The flip side of that would be who would build them and or anything if we gave
everything away for free from the government...

I feel obligated to point out something for you here fosil...
Habib has become a common slang term for those of middle easter descent, it
gained popularity in movies of old arabia where some damsel would refer to a man
as Habib.
Considering the word translates roughly between lover and beloved, I would be
careful who you called Habib!
It could lead to some awkward social situations no doubt...
Just a heads up

Let's start with what the House version of the Obamacare program costs are being
touted at which is $1.2 trillion. This is the more expensive number of all the
plans and such, but with the government at the helm, you can damned well bet
even that figure is modest in terms of what it will eventually cost, so let's
stay with this figure as a kind of median number to attempt to work this
from.
Now for some perspective
Obamacare Program : $1,200,000,000,000
20 plane fleet of B-2s : $42,000,000,000
I dunno, I mean I'm just an old Texan, but I was always taught more zeros made a
number larger than one with fewer zeros. Anyway, in doing the math it looks like
we would have to up the fleet of B-2s to a total of 571 of 'em to reach the same
figure as the (proposed) cost of this "National Healthcare Plan". Of
course we aren't going to build 551 more B-2s so it's all kinda irrelevant
anyway, meaning the argument posed above is similarly irrelevant, and a bit
obtuse I might add.
Anyone thinking health care for the country, with politicians writing the policy
requirements/determinations and deciding reasonable cost effective benefit
plans, then meting it out through down stream chains of bureacrasies is gonna be
good for anyone but the people making bank off of handling it all is a damned
fool.
Ask any American with a brain how to totally fuck anything up and the answer
you'll find most frequently is "Let the government run it!".
The grand puppetmaster has already been quoted as saying if it were his family
members medical problems he would not limit the care given to them by the
limitations of his program. Oh yeah dude, way to sell it!
If, and mind you, this is the big IF that's never gonna happen, no matter what,
but IF the same people writing our laws regarding
healthcare/medicare/medicaide/social security and retirement programs were
required to use these things, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, no ifs ands or buts, they JUST
MIGHT create legislation that made sense both economically and socially.
So ... here's a personal shout out to all the idiots out there that think
government controlled and mandated health care will ever be reasonable,
affordable or practical in its implementation or scope. Here's a big high hard
one just for each and every fuckin one of ya
And, as a final tribute here's one more. I'll bend right the fuck over and show
you exactly where to kiss it

BTW, the analogy drawn by the cartoon above is absolutely correct. Liberalism
with the guiding hand of Islamic fundamentalism will be the end of America as we
know it, which will then lead to the deterioration along with the rise of
socialism in the free world as a whole as the end result.
Big and waaaaaaay bigger government is not the key to our success. It costs us
HUGE piles of cash, and last time I looked .... we didn have any of those, but
don't tell the government, they'll just offer to print MORE, and tell us not to
worry about that 30% it costs us for each new dollar minted.
Political correctness is not the key to our success. It stymies freedom, while
making criminals out of people who thought they had a right to dissent or speak
their mind.
Socialistic agendas of the government ruling every segment of our lives is not
the key to our success. Again it costs HUGE piles of cash and only further
diminishes our freedoms and rights, which is great if you're the cats at the
top, but shit if you're not. Though slavery was officially abolished quite some
time ago, it's back, and with a brand new name, a few new twists, but all the
same underpinnings.
The key to our success and continuation as a society is the same as it's always
been. Do what's necessary for yourself, accept responsibility for your own
success AND failures, work hard and do what's right and be cognizant of what IS
right in regards to others.
I'd like to think I could look back on the events of today in 20yrs and say they
were for the best. The reality I fear will greet us is looking back in 20yrs
and wondering will lead more to queries like "How the hell did we screw up
our government and society so badly in such a short span?"

Government spending is one of those wonderful things that if done right only
manages to boost the economy. I mean if the government spends $1billion in wages
a large % of that billion spent is going to come back in taxes (income tax, item
purchases from wages also pay a tax), so really now the government isn't
spending 1 billion it's only spending a % less than that, now if you also think
about it the money it does get back it's gonna re-spend and a % of that is also
going to come back.
However when a government spends money on offshore projects, war?, how much of
that money recycles back into the countries economy? I really don't see why
Americans can get all upset about this stupid idea when you are already paying
for a much bigger stupid idea. At least this one will give bob the first year
medical student something to do. And enable him to later move into private
practice and be able to pay more in tax in a year.
And the thing about medical care is no one if forcing you to take it. If you
want better care and are willing to pay for it that's good for you. But for
those that aren't willing to pay for it they should at least have the chance to
get some kinda care.
Hopefully you guys are smart enough to introduce a medicare levee so if you
don't have private healthcare you pay an amount of tax but if you do have it you
don't have to support a public system.

DK, I respect your thoughts and know there's some logic behind them in respect
to government spending vs. return into the economy. However, unless you have
spent hours upon hours researching this issue, its implementation costs,
management costs and what all this means to the American people and economy at a
juncture where so many people and companies are doing all they can just to
survive the current economic conditions I feel you're truly ill equipped to
comment on the functionality of this program as a whole.
It's one thing to view a thought, idea or process in an abstract way compared to
inspecting all sides and parameters of it, then deciding with such an inspection
under ones belt if it is sound or folly.
It's no secret the US economy is tettering on the brink of financial ruin these
days. With that in mind additional taxes upon the wealthier sections of the
population and small businesses will only serve to undermine economic growth,
not stimulate it as this is essentially hitting both ends of the economic growth
spectrum. The plan intends to get funding through attacking those capable of
investing in development of new industries/jobs/sales and the start-up companies
poised to expand and also create new industry/jobs and sales.
Then, since all other segments of the economy will also see increased costs for
providing mandated health insurance to employees this in turn causes costs for
every product and service to have to be increased to recoup these costs, which
means, you guessed it ..... higher costs for everything, and sadly at a time
when the US public is the least capable of shouldering such increases.
My thoughts on our "outside our borders" policies have been presented
here multiple times as well as my position on a 20yr period of isolationism as a
nation, so there's no point in rehashing it all again here now.
The truest down side to all the talk of a national health care program is that
it simply leads to more bureaucracy, more government employees, meaning more
money to fund their salaries and benefits which is all in addition to the cost
of the health care coverage we will receive in return! Lastly, our government
NEVER does anything profitably, starting in Home Town USA and all the way right
up to Washington DC and with that in mind the one thing I feel sure of is this
program will not only do the job poorly all in all, but it will do it in a
totally inefficient way and costs be damned
PrOpHeT Report This Comment Date: July 17, 2009 02:29PM
That my friend is the beauty of money and being the government that regulates
said money.
Considering that most of the financial substance of this country was thrown away
years ago in favor of a shell game of numbers,
we now suffer the sins of our own greed in that respect.
This administration will do as the last and the one before and the one before
that.
And that will be make the numbers match were they have to and let the future
deal with the fallout.
It has been a long time since either the government or the people of this
country were willing to accept the truth of where our economy stands, and what
it would really take to fix.
Instead we focus on building paper houses and playing with matches

True enough, sad, but true.
If the government were bound by the same financial constraints as every company
and individual in regards to money, lots of things would be different. If a
company or individual pays for a product or service they are constrained by the
idea they must 1st have the money to make the purchase, government does not.
If a company or individual writes a check without funds in the kitty to make it
good, they have committed a crime and are subject to penalties, fines and loss
of credit and credibility. When government commits the same act they simply
implement new taxes or borrow from other governments to cover the shortfall and
go on about their business.
Every few years some politician will put his mug all over the place yammering on
about needing a balanced budget and in turn gets segments of his constituants
thinkin he's doin a great job in protecting our financial/fiscal interests,
which was problee the fuckin plan all along. But, until it actually occurs in
reality, which it hasn't done yet, it's all just more bluster and blather, kinda
like madnez's BS, just on a national level
