" This one says it all -- and thanks to Judy Peer of Rochester, New York
-- who found this monument to greed and chauvenism on Winton Road there. The
tattooed eagle stradles a lumpish, deflated earth (perhaps punctured by its
talons) before the ranks of Humvees waiting for buyers who can take advantage of
the special corporate tax break for vehicles over 6000 pounds (nice work Karl
Rove!). Notice, the setting is one of those innumerable places not worth caring
about which someday will add up to a nation not worth defending."

Dissent and criticism is the method for pointing out problems and then fixing
them. If you want a rose-colored world, keep drinking the kool-aid, my
friend.
morale, not moral.

The kool-aid is only served in Canada, in green bottles, right?

So let me get this right: I post an image and another person's comment that
gas-guzzling military vehicles painted for consumer purchase, fronted by an
over-the-top representation of nationalistic symbols, on a smooshed-looking
earth.... . and you say I should leave the country? Jesus christ.
America is amazing. The people here, while undereducated, have big hearts. Our
science is second to none, our creativity and technological prowess lead the
world (in many things at least), our landscape is fantastic. Yet there are many
bad things too, and jingoism is one of them.

Anyway, these are Hummer 2's, which are total poseur vehicles. They are the
"look" of a Hummer, on the body of a Chevy Tahoe. How superficial.
