Whenever I read between the lines,
All I can see is the dollar signs,
That cloud my judgment and corrode my conscience,
It leaves me gullibly consuming the nonsense,
To facilitate the media marketing the product,
Which affects my obedience and changes my conduct,
While corporate representatives transmit images to think, say, and wear,
And I’m just another number in their book so why should they care,
About my physical, emotional, or mental welfare,
My eyes are wide open with a deadened stare,
I can see the deceit, the games that they play,
But I obey the rules and play along anyway,
For that almighty pie of which we all want a piece,
The greed, the power, when will it cease?
Until death do I part this monster, this machine,
And only then will I understand what this all means.
