Moore might have good intentions, but he is blinded by his preoccupation of being anti-Bush, and trying to be a good liberal. People like this prejudge world events to suit their agenda, and ignore facts that don't fit with their world-view. Actually a LOT of people are like that. If that is actually his comment, this just shows how much of an idealist he is and how ignorant he is of actual world events. The insurgents in Iraq are NOT freedom fighters. They are criminal gangs taking advantage of anarchy and former Saddam thug henchmen that are fighting to turn Iraq back into tyrannical elitist regime. The islamic terrorists want to turn Iraq into a terrorist state ruled by Islamic fundamentalism and do not care how many innocent Iraqis they kill to achieve their goals. The AVERAGE Iraqi does not support any of these groups. IS THAT NOT IMPORTANT!!!! The AVERAGE Iraqi really wants what the Americans have promised them. A tolerant society and a freely elected accountable government. I think if Michael Moore made his comments to a village of Iraqis, who have witnessed car bombs blow up their children too many times, they would string him up and hang him.
