If it is a button hook shoes would have had very large buttons and holes for this.
Yes that is a dime next to it for size, Odamna's economy kept me from using a quarter.
I used to be in the Navy and never saw anything like this before, not to say it's not possible.
If someone find what it is for sure I would appreciate it. One person on my Facebook page suggested it was an olive dipper.
