What conspiracy? Bush is an oilman. His daddy is an oilman. His friends are connected to oilmen. He makes common cause with Saudi royalmen. Saudis are on the board of the Carlyle Group, upon which Bush Daddy sits. It's really no conspiracy, it's just the rich looking out for their own interests.

Now whether this photo relates to Bush making extra money, I doubt it. But there are serious allegations of petro price gouging post-Katrina.

very true..but the US is a major oil producer and oil refiner so it SHOULD be cheap here. not to mention the fact the UK is the size of florida (not really but you get the idea) my job is over 40 miles 1 way. with my car i burn through 4-4.5 gallons of gas PER DAY just to get to work and back. and thats with the a/c off. which sux seeing as its still over 95-102 every day

The larger point is there IS not short term fix. The US has, over time, put itself in the precarious position of relying on cars-and-interstate-highways, almost completely. That's a bit risky. We should have been investing in quality train networks years ago. But no, we let private industry (freight) purchase all the rails, and let Amtrak suffer.

Hoist on one's own petard, I'd call it.

And Rush Limbaugh is a person who uses emotion to incite hatred of other people that he labels. He's hardly a serious source of information.
