Not to sound racist...but herein lies the problem with negroes...Give em an inch and they always take a mile...and while this excess may be praised in the bedroom, it does very little to erase all the negative stereotypes society has of them

No, it was racist. Who's to say we must be poor? Who's to say we must be without personal resources? Who's to say those are even true evacuees? Are we true "negroes" in your opinion only when we are poor?

Society will always have a negative opinion of Blacks because not all of us aspire to merge into the hateful, Eurocentric culture that is (thankfully) decreasingly prevalent here in America. Consider that the Republican Revolution, the election and re-election of George W. Bush, the Oklahoma City bombing, Ruby Ridge, Waco, and many other high-impact, high-visibility tragedies are neither our fault nor our issue. They are your problems, as is your attitude.

Record yourself one day, hear the hateful self-righteousness that issues forth, and then ask again why Blacks, Muslims, and most Arabs hate you. And this is from an American making full use of the First Amendment, so let me nip all of the “America, love it or leave it postings” that are sure to follow by saying that I have the right to be harshly (and perhaps unjustly) critical of certain populations. Doing so does not make me anti-American. Indeed, some of the greatest Americans of all time have been the ones to stand up and state what is wrong.

To you and the rest of the racist, gynophobic, Right Wing miscreants infesting this site, I have one piece of advice: get a life.

These people in the picture are living "lavishly" ? Oh I get it. Blacks should be without clothes and not shop at the minimart like these people. You want their plight to be even worse. Start thinking asshole.

It appears another racist asswipe didn't have the ballz to be overt in his racism so he used a bad image in an attempt to shield his racists ideas. What a small person you are.

Beast, do you believe its ok for these upstanding citizens to use our tax money to feed their addictions? This whole subject really perturbs me. I have a disability, and have been awarded a pension through the Veterans. I can't get my disability from Social Security. But if I were an alcoholic or addicted to crack, I would be receiving a monthly pension from Social Security. Does that sound fair to you?

chupalaflablah

What are you talking about ? What addiction are they using your tax money for ? Having a beer is just like having a pepsi. Jumping to conclusions is wrong and little minded. Even more wrong and little minded is to say that because someone has a beer that they are an alcoholic. That is plain BS and you know it.

I think at this point we could grant the people who suffered the wrath of hurricane Katrina their right to be an american and have a beer. Don't you ?

That's actually Walmart. It's on Cape Cod where I happen to be from. These assholes were taken to Otis Airforce Base and given shelter and food and money. The money was supposed to be for necessities and to have something to start a new life when they return to what they used to call home. Instead these fucks hopped a trolley to Falmouth and spent the money on booze and the only titty bar on cape, Zachary's. This is what most of your donations are going to. I since discovering this earlier today have decided to stop donating my much needed dollars. To those of you really in need of my money, you can thank these douchebags for my lack of compassion. My prayers are with those who deserve them. To the others... I hope you are forced to resort to eating shit. Then I would like to see your picture on the paper doing so. You should be ashamed for doing such things. All people tried to do was help you out, and this is the thanks they get. FUCK OFF!!!!!!

By the way... Racism has nothing to do with this. These happen to be the only people who were seen in the act of wasting your donations. I am kinda disgusted with some of the comments posted on this pic. They are not well though out and/or researched. Perhaps next time you want to post a pic you should read about it and post the details as well. They are absolutely not living lavishly. There is also nothing to suggest that these people have addictions. Saying either of those things just goes to show how ignorant and simpleminded some of you are. Good luck to the lot of ya!!!!

From one christian to another, I don't believe you gave $1 to any Katrina related charity.

That you have cast judgement tells all of us that you need to attend church more regularly. However, if you do attend regularly you should consider a new church. You are acting unchristlike.

You have no right to sit in judgement. None !

Beast, aparrently, you have never went to a Social Security office. People who are addicted to crack or alcohol are unemployable because it is considered a "medical condition" to drink all day or toke a crack pipe. They are awarded a benefit of about 350.00 a month, which is usually gone in two days, cause Cheetos, liquor and crack are the basis to a viable community. I just hope for days that my joints allow me to walk, but I don't drink or smoke crack. But yet, I still have my family drive me to a lawyer to fight to be awarded the funds given to your local drunk or crack addict. Oh yea, `show` me in the Bible where God said to abuse the government or to sit around drinking beer all day. Maybe if these people were at work, no one would think these things. I think you need to watch a movie called Crash.

Evacuees binge on Cape: Spend fed cash on booze, strippers
By Maggie Mulvihill and Dave Wedge
Tuesday, October 18, 2005 - Updated: 12:17 AM EST

BOURNE - Hurricane Katrina evacuees hastily handed $2,000 in federal relief money last month have been living it up on Cape Cod, blowing cash on booze and strippers, a Herald investigation has found.

Herald reporters witnessed blatant public drinking at a Falmouth strip mall by Katrina victims living at taxpayer expense at Camp Edwards on Otis Air Force Base. And strippers at Zachary's nightclub in Mashpee, a few miles from the Bourne base, report giving lap dances to several evacuees.

``They were tipping me $5 a pop,'' said a Zachary's dancer named Angel. ``I told them I felt bad taking their money. But I still took it.''

Another dancer said a large group from the military base was in Zachary's recently and she gave lap dances to several of the victims.

``Some spend good money, but others don't,'' she said.
An assistant club manager, who gave his name only as Michael, acknowledged yesterday that the strip joint is popular with people from Camp Edwards.

``It's no different for someone who lives at Camp Edwards or is stationed at Camp Edwards. As long as they have the proper ID they can go in,'' he said.

On Oct. 5, the Herald observed a virtual parade of evacuees from a bus stop in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Falmouth to nearby liquor stores. Some emerged and openly swilled from brown-bagged containers, while others poured booze into jugs or plastic cups and casually sipped drinks at the Wal-Mart bus stop.

The refugees have access to daily trolley service from Camp Edwards to the Falmouth Mall.
One elderly man poured a bottle of Ruble vodka into a water bottle and spent the afternoon sipping the liquor outside the Wal-Mart. Two other men were seen buying 32-ounce Coors Light cans at George's Liquors and drinking at the bus stop.

Last Tuesday, one 52-year-old evacuee, who told a reporter he was originally from Cuba, stood in the rain outside Wal-Mart for several hours drinking gin and orange juice from a thermos. The same day, a female evacuee bought ice at a supermarket and roughly $30 worth of hard liquor before being driven in a car back to Camp Edwards. Evacuees are banned from bringing booze onto the base.

One Camp Edwards source said evacuees swiped liquor off shelves at the U.S. Coast Guard store on the base and drank it in the aisles.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has issued more than $1.5 billion to 607,000 Katrina victims in the form of individual cash handouts of $2,000. There are no restrictions on how the money can be spent, FEMA officials said.

Gov. Mitt Romney and the Legislature approved a $25 million emergency aid package to feed and house 235 of the evacuees at Camp Edwards. As of mid-September, the Red Cross had doled out another $25,000 in debit cards for victims sent to the Bay State.

The Camp Edwards residents have been treated to Red Sox and New Orleans Saints games, Boston Duck Tours, a chowder fest, concerts, and free cell phone and Internet service, as well as cookouts sponsored by Romney and U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.).

Since the Sept. 8 arrival of the original 235 evacuees, a handful of unruly drunks have been taken into protective custody, according to law enforcement officials.

More than half the evacuees have left Camp Edwards for other housing, and 114 refugees remain at the encampment, which is slated for shutdown Thursday.

Falmouth police Chief David Cusolita said police cracked down on public drinking at the Wal-Mart after complaints last month but he reported no recent incidents.

Barnstable Sheriff Jim Cummings said some of the intoxicated refugees were taken into custody by state police, while others were escorted to their dorms

Looking at a webiste is anti-christian ? Doesn't that statement make you look stupid ? Again ?

chupalaflablah

Yeah. What is the problem with going to strip clubs and drinking ? that is part of being american. Having the freedom to do what you want. Especially under times of great stress like these people have endured. I hope the ladies of the region do the same.

I won't be casting a stone at them in judgement.

BTW, If being american is a problem for you maybe you should look into leaving.

Beast,

The problem is I would not use my own money for strip clubs, so why should I give you or anyone else money to go? If you want to go to a strip club, go.....just don't ask me for my money to tip the ladies.

chupalaflablah

Who cares what you would use your own money for ? Once you pay your taxes and the money is redistributed, it's not your money anymore. You have no say.

The idea that you want to control how other people spend their money is anti-american.

One thing you should think about is that with poor people enjoying themselves, no matter how, most times they do not reach despair and commit crimes.

Did you know that when times were tough in the past law enforcement was told to lighten up on drug enforcement ? And the crime rate went down.

@17180:

So, I need to be in the f*cking asylum? Why, are you lonely? Do you need pleasant company beyond your nearly empty tube of KY and your overused right hand? Did your Inflate-A-Mate love doll burst from overuse? You poor, needy thing. I pity you.

That is the biggest bunch of crap I've ever heard. I have a relative who is a cop. He said that your law enforcement that you referred to is CORRUPT. Let's see you move some of these good citizens in your house, since they are so worthy.
