How about remembering the thousands who die in road accidents? Or 3,000 people
who die every DAY from starvation all round the world?
They're all innocent, but I don't see anyone waging war on poverty or dickhead
drivers.
Get a sense of perspective.
All politicians need a cause or an "enemy", so that people will vote
for them. Not enough votes in poverty or road deaths.

Let's also remember that our country had been warned many times. Drop the 911
bullshit, those who died are gone now...grieve....get it over with ....and move
on with your lives and try not to take things for granted. The firemen that died
in that structure were honored....those who were in that building we
honored...and things move forward. A couple more generations from now no one
will give a flying fuck.

Jumbo, it is just so obvious to me that you don't understand how significant
that event was. It was a watershed event that marked the awareness of how
incredibly dangerous Islamic militants have become. It was then understood that
they seek to kill as many people as possible and that No horrific act was
outside their scope. What differentiated the 9/11 attack from everyday deaths
that occur in the world was that fellow human beings INTENTIONALLY killed
thousands of people for a cause that many don't understand. People from all
over the world worked in those buildings and died in them. It held something
like 50,000 people. It was VERY fortunate that MANY more people weren't killed.
Sure some people say the attack was about turmoil in the middle east. They are
just grasping for some kind of rational reason because we all need a sense of
reason for everything. They don't understand the mentality of Wahabi Islam. They
HATE outsiders. They are extremely xenophobic and view ANY influence from
outside sources as corrupting and a threat to their society. They view attacks
against such outsiders as ordained by their violent interpretation of god. Peace
in the middle east will not satisfy these people. Only complete annihilation of
western influence will do.
